I thought I would take a moment (since nothing else interesting is going on in our lives right now) to post some of the school work Brooke has brought home over the last two weeks. So far, I've been told, they've just been 'reviewing'. I'm always amazed at what she does at school, because you get her home and she clams up. Of course, at this point, I'm not sure why I am still amazed. The stuff she is doing at Montessori always exceeds my expectations.
I'm not sure if, in the blogger window, you can make out what's on these papers....but, here's two papers where she had to read the story and write in the appropriate word in the blanks.
And here's one where she had to read the short little paragraph and then answer the question about what she read.
And, last but certainly not least... this past week (the only 'new' thing to her this year) they started learning multiplication. :-O She's been adding and subtracting easy enough this past year, so now I guess they are moving on. Just not so sure this mama's ready for her to grown up and be movin' on! ;-P
I left off the picture of a worksheet where she had to read and answer questions, writing her answers to questions like... her full name, her address, her phone number, what state she lives in and what country, etc. It was pretty impressive in my opinion, but I didn't want to share our address with the entire internet. ;)
And finally, here's just a picture she drew. She's also getting better at a lot of her drawings. This is a simple one, but she can draw good butterflies, cows, dogs, cats, people, houses, flowers, and trees. She loves to draw! This particular drawing kinda looks like an eery Tim Burton film to me, if you take out the sun. :P
Brenna, meanwhile, has spent the first couple of weeks at school learning the rules and the system and the organization and the routines. She loves loves Ms Lydia, but has gotten 'in trouble' a couple of times already, trying to see how far she could push the limits. <.< src="http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l120/brandyj125/mylivesignature-1.png">
