The Release

This past weekend we decided to let our butterflies go. :( It was a little sad. We've come to think of them as pets. But they only live 2-4 weeks so I wanted the second half of their life to be free. Plus, I didn't want to watch them die. ;) So we let the girls take the net outside and Brad pulled them out one by one to allow each girl a turn in holding one before it flew off. We were even so thoughtful as to release them close to the rosebushes from where their food (aka - fresh flowers) came from. The first one (out of 5 total) got loose quickly, but the others all crawled around on them for a bit first. It was so neat an experience all the way around...we are sure to do this again!

Brenna's holding out her arm for her turn!
And there it goes!

Also, the weather has definitely been warming up around here. So much so that we pulled out the ol' kiddie pool and filled it up to allow the kids some 'swim' time. They had a blast! We've also made one trip to the splashpad already and plan to make many more soon!

Every time Brooke got ready to go down the slide, Brenna went to the corner seat to sit and watch, as if this was some Olympic sport she was going to rate or something. LOL

And just another random cute moment. As I was cooking dinner, the girls (on their own) decided it would be fun to dress in Daddy's clothes. :)
