So, for about 7 hours this past week, the weather was decent. Decent in that it wasn't raining. It was still cool (not cold) and muddy from all the rain, but we took advantage and let the girls play outside for the first time in forever it seems. And we allowed Brenna back on the trampoline - she's been on a trampoline hiatus since the broken arm. ;)
Here's Daddy pretending to be the little old lady in Snow White with the apple. Silly Daddy!
The rest of our time lately has been spent indoors. Quite boring if you ask me. I don't mind the cold. In fact, I LOVE the cold. I was not meant to live in the hottest part of the nation (I don't know that technically it IS the hottest, but if not, it's close). I should be living in Colorado or something. I rarely wear a coat. In fact the only time I wear a jacket is if its raining or if we plan to be outside for longer than the 1 minute and 30 seconds it takes to go from the car to the inside of the store or school or where ever. But, that being said...I HATE rain forever. I don't mind it occassionally, but the ongoing foreverness of rain that we've had lately is ridiculous. I don't like getting wet. I guess I was not meant to live in Seattle. But oh, wait...I don't. And yet, we're still getting pelted.
Anyways, so we've been cooped up inside forever. And it sucks. The kids need some fresh air and some mud-free play time. While I am not saying I'm ready for Summer (hear that, God? I'm not ready for the 100-degree temp days), I am ready for some dryness!
So, in our spare time, we brush the dog. LOL
We do makeup...
And I take pictures.
Actually, I got a new flash hood for my camera. I can't stand using a flash and the blaring look it gives, so I found a handy dandy flash bouncer hood that is really cheap and works really well (for the price!). It's only $20 through Adorama with free shipping. Check it out!
So I've had fun playing with that.
And we've been keeping the fireplace going. In fact, we had a cord of wood delivered to us right after Christmas and we've almost gone through the whole thing! Which is good. But man..that's a lot of wood! I'm pretty sure this could be the coldest winter..or at least coldest for the longest period of time. I love it! Take that, Al Gore!
Here's Barkley in his new 'spot'...directly in front of the fire. Go figure. The dog is full of hair and is miserable in the summer, but here he sits..in front of the fire.
And last night, we had a substantial amount of sleet..you know, all the while when Dallas was getting like a foot of snow...yea, we got more rain and sleet. It did snow, though, however for all of 5 minutes. I yanked the kids out of bed (knowing it wouldn't last) to come see it. And don't worry, they weren't asleep yet. ;) This is the best picture I could get of it...there were some BIG flakes though. Nothing compared to the pics I am seeing plastered all over Facebook though from my more Northern friends. Show-offs!
And lastly, but not least, here's a pic of Brooke about to go off to NaNa's for the weekend. The day after the Daddy/Daughter dance, she went to spend the night with Nana, got to go to church with PaPoo, play at the park, eat loads of popcorn shrimp and lots more fun.
Not to be outdone, however... While the cat's away...
While Brooke was gone at Nana's, Brenna decided she wanted to sleep/nap in Brooke's bed. Say it ain't so!!! First she's pottying with regularity, now she's trying to sleep in a 'big girl' bed! They grow up way too fast....
