Because that's what I do. I take pictures. When I see something cute on my kids or something cute they are doing...I take a picture. I always have a camera within arms reach it seems, so that's what I do. Here ya go!
Some people would say the weather here has been unseasonably warm. I don't know...I've lived in or around this area my whole life and it seems every January we always have temps in the 70's. At any rate, the weather's been nice enough on a few occasions for us to have an outdoor lunch. Brooke calls it a picnic, but we eat at the table, so I'm not sure it qualifies.
My dad came over two weekends in a row! That was unique and nice to have him around for visiting and playing and such. Brenna just loves her PaPoo. Here she is making him read the "Boom Pa Pa" book over and over and over again.
My mom also came over and stayed for several days. We got to go out and see LOTS of new movies. Well, lots for us anyway, considering I can probably count the number of movies we've seen since Brooke was born on one hand. We saw Avatar (blech!) because that was Brad's request. Then we saw Lovely Bones. I had read the book previously and the movie was really good (in a sad sorta way). Then I went and saw It's Complicated with my mom, which was laugh.out.loud funny! It was a great movie. I thought it would just kinda be fun, but it was really funny. (and I'm not particularly an Alec Baldwin fan, but this was good) Then Brad and I also went and saw The Blind Side. Another good one, but in a Lifetime Movie feel-good kinda way. Nice that its a true story too! And am I the only one that could not believe that was Tim McGraw in that movie?!?! No way. I even came home and put side by side pictures up on my computer and still couldn't believe it.
Anyway, so we're all caught up on our movies I suppose, though I still have one more request - Extraordinary Measures - it looks really good as well.
While my mom was here, both the girls seemed to fight over her dog (a tiny teacup poodle...or something like that). Finally a dog Brenna could carry around! HaHa!
So then Brenna learned its kinda fun to hold the dogs and constantly requests to 'hold it' now...here she is holding Bailey. He's not as thrilled as she is. ;)
And to not leave out good ol' Barkley, here he is lounging around. He's SUCH a laid back, easy going dog. Amazing he just turned a year old...he acts all grown up and mature. For the most part. ;)
And I got a new lens for Christmas that I'm finally getting around to playing with..so its a win-win!
Normally we're rushing off for ballet class, but last week we had a few extra minutes, so I took the time to put her hair up in a bun..and she insisted we take a picture.
Now, both of my kids are turning into little models. Hard to get them to do it simultaneously, but I'll take what I can get. Brenna will now say "Cheeeeeeeeese" on command and if she sees me pick up a camera she starts in on the "Cheeeeese". Ahhh...my little padawan, I've trained her so well. She's also started taken to modeling as well. Here she is trying to 'model' like her sister. Notice the hands on her hips and the angling of her body...she's trying so hard to be cute. No one told her she doesn't have to try - she just is!
Brenna loves to go and pick up Brooke's little camera and pretend to take pictures of all of us now as well. Ahhh...a girl after my own heart!
Now, I'll leave you with one final picture. A humorous one I think. Brooke has had an ongoing cough and is now finally on some antibiotics - penicillin to be exact. She's been to the doctor a couple of times now and we really hope they are able to figure out this never-ending cough she has and make it be gone for good! (She's had it since way before Christmas!) Anyway, after her first couple of doses of the amoxicillin, I wanted to check on her to make sure she was ok (I'm extremely allergic to the stuff and this was her first time with it) So, the other night, before going to sleep, I went in to check on the girls, and I found Brooke sleeping in a strange position. I'm not even sure how she fell asleep like this, much less how she stayed asleep like this..looks uncomfortable to me!
