I have much to be thankful for this year, as I have every year. I certainly feel blessed beyond words, so I will not try to convey or list out all the many things I am fortunate to have in my life. I would be sure to forget something or someone, so I won't set out to do the impossible. It doesn't take a special holiday for me to remember how great I have it. While sometimes we stress and worry about insignificant details and goings-ons in life, in actuality, we have it made. And if you are reading this, you do too. Because just the fact that you have access to a computer, phone, internet, whatever your means may be, is reason enough to know that you have it made. There are many many less fortunate than me, than you, than most. Be thankful for what you have and cherish it every day, remembering to thank God for your numerous blessings. That's what I try to do daily (I don't always succeed, but I strive for that).
The first picture, above, is of the girls holding up their hand/foot print turkeys. The tail and tail feathers are the girls' hand tracings and the body of the turkey are their feet tracings. Got the great idea passed on to me from a friend . Thanks friend!
Here's Brooke making her Thankful Four Turkey . We all did Thankful Four Turkey's first thing this morning. Really great idea, really easy to do, and really good to get the kids brainstorming and understanding what Thanksgiving is all about. You trace your hand, make your turkey, and write Four things that you are Thankful For.. on each of the tail feathers.
All of our Thankful Four Turkeys hanging up...
Daddy's Thankful For...Brooke, Brenna, Mommy, and God. Mommy is Thankful For...my family, my house, Jesus, and that everyone's healthy.
Brenna is Thankful For...Brooke, Mommy, Daddy, and the dogs (we really did ask her and she answered? so we filled it in for her!). Brooke is Thankful For..her sister, her teacher, her dogs, and the kids at school. Then she had to draw another one on the back and fill it with thankfulness...her mom, her dad, friends, and Santa Claus. LOL Then she went and got more paper and drew more thankful four turkeys. Sweet kid. :-)
