Tears of a ballerina

Brooke is starting ballet classes this week. Kind of a last minute decision and the grandmoms are helping out with that one. But in so doing, we had to run around this weekend finding ballet outfits. Specifically, leotards, tights, ballet shoes, and tap shoes.

We are also in the era of what one kid wants, the other wants. It doesn't matter if its a toy that hasn't been picked up in 2 years. If one's got it, you can bet your life the other will be lusting after it soon. Anyways, so while Brooke was trying on her new gear, I pulled down the box of old ballet clothes from when Brooke took a summer class when she was 2.5. The tiniest one fit Brenna! So, we now have two matching ballerinas. Here's Brenna dancing her little heart out...

And in true sibling rivalry fashion, here's yet another example of how they like to be like each other...

Yep, when Brooke took something away from Brenna, Brenna swatted her, which led to Brooke crying, which in turn led to Brenna crying. Ay yi yi.....

Other fun stuff...

Here's more dancing. Both of them love to turn on music and just dance! The other night we played some "oldies" and taught (Brooke mainly) how to limbo appropriately, the Twist, the Bunny Hop, and more. It was a fun night. The girls stayed up waaaay past their bedtime. But it was fun. I hope that nights like those will carry with them as fond memories of their childhood.

Brenna sporting a hat... (not an uncommon occurrence in our household - she LOVES hats!)...And here's her "silly face"...
