This trip was much more leisurely than our last. We left after breakfast and in perfect timing, we were able to stop in Gruene to eat lunch at our FAVORITE restaraunt....The Gristmill. If you've never been, it really is a must if you are ever in the area. Its great food and great ambience. Even in 100-degree weather, we were totally comfortable sitting outside by the river eating. Brenna decided, while there, that she likes lemons.
Or maybe she just likes our reaction to her licking on lemons?
We took the scenic route and enjoyed some shopping at the little stores in Gruene and of course, visited the famous Gruene Hall.
Then, we drove further (after lunch and during naps!) to San Antonio. The girls once again did GREAT travelling. Brooke napped for a little bit, but was very content watching her DVD's. Brenna napped the whole rest of the drive to San Antonio (and before Gruene was also content watching Baby Einstein).

So we spent the rest of the afternoon on the riverwalk in San Antonio and it was mis-er-able! Hot and muggy and so not worth the effort.
So we ate dinner on the river, had margaritas (in true San Antonio fashion) and called it a day. Our hotel was ok...for $50/night especially! It wasn't high class by any means, but it provided what we needed and then some. It was a suite style hotel, so we had a divided room again which meant we could put the girls in bed and we could stay up and watch TV or whatever else in the living rm area. There was a free continental breakfast every morning, which gave Brooke her favorite - waffles! And not just any waffles...but Texas-shaped waffles!

The floors were kinda dirty but that was the worst part I suppose. We just all had to wear shoes the whole time in the hotel. But really...we weren't there for the hotel. And we got an awesome deal, with an included $50 gas card to come later. We actually spent more on our tickets to Seaworld than we did on a 3-night hotel stay!
