Happy Birthday PaPoo!

Not that my dad will ever read this blog (he doesn't even own or have access to a computer...the horror!), but I feel I should honor him in some small way. Plus I have pictures to share from the day of course! We went to his house yesterday to celebrate his bday (and Brad's...Brad's bday is on the 27th and my dad's is on the 28th). Brooke took him his card that she recorded a special message on and a coffee mug that she colored herself...The girls played around at his house some and got into everything they possibly could. And it always comes back to the organ...They both LOVE playing the organ at his house. Who wouldn't? And I swear I have this exact same picture of Brooke at this exact same age with this exact same expression! Talk about serious deja-vu....(I'll have to find and re-post it later)...And they get a kick out of listening to him play all his instruments. He's very talented in the musical field. This time it was the banjo, but he can also play the guitar, accordian, violin, harmonica and much more very well!
It's the little things in life. They don't need toys. They enjoy going out in his backyard and rousing up all the neighborhood dogs. Why is that so fun?? There are neighbor dogs on each side and back of his chain link fence, so when the girls go out there and run from one side to the other to the back, the dogs just start going crazy and they get a big kick out of it!Anyway, then we went to the airport for lunch. If you're ever in the area, they have great food, great atmosphere, plus the 'entertainment' of getting to watch airplanes take off and land!
After lunch, we went to the park next door to my dad's house for some play time (aka - burn off any energy before the car ride back home). Here's Brooke showing off her skipping skills... Isn't the fish cool??? Brooke's in there somewhere, but mainly, I wanted a picture cuz I just thought the fish was cool. And inside, the stairs going up through the fish to the next level were the fish's 'bones'. Cool huh?

So Brenna napped all the way home and the rest of our weekend was pretty uneventul. Except, Brad and I did get to go see a movie tonight...together! Man, that's been a while. Yay for babysitters, right???
And I'll leave you with pictures of the tiny tot in pigtails again. These lasted a good 30 minutes! Not bad, eh?
