Egg Hunting

This morning we went to the Presidential Library for their annual Easter Egg Hunt. This was the first year we went (I think we were always busy on previous years) but we enjoyed it! They had lots of freebies - from facepainting to games to drinks, popcorn, free goodie bag for every child, prize drawings and of course, the egg hunt.

Brooke eating her cotton candy that started melting from the humidity almost as soon as she got it!Brenna was the only one outgoing enough to pose for a pic in the fire truck. And the Easter Bunny comes riding in on the fire truck to announce the beginning of the egg hunt. We ran into some friends there, some seasoned experts that guided us through our adventure. Here's the girls plotting their strategy. The fire truck was supposed to "announce" the start of the egg hunt with a siren, but something happened...not sure if someone jumped the gun or what...but for whatever reason, it just all of the sudden started. They had them divided in age groups - Brooke was in the 4/5 yr olds, while Brenna was in 0-3yr group. So lucky for us we could each be responsible for one kiddo. Each girl got a lot of eggs.
Brenna just enjoyed playing with the egg - didn't matter what was in it, if anything. Brooke however, couldn't wait to see what was inside! And I was much impressed that she didn't get a single piece of candy! Just all little trinkets and toys and such.
When we got home, we unloaded all our free stuff. (Okay, okay, the Gerber Graduates weren't free...we got those on the way home, but whatever)

Awesome. By the way, you got all that stuff because it was at the Bush Library. Obama's library egg hunt will charge $25 per egg plus a 79 cent tax for people who make more than $50,000 per year.
