The Big One

***WARNING - Lots of pictures!***

Yes, I took tons of pictures. Imagine that. ;-) Anyways, so yesterday afternoon we had a small family 'party' for Brenna's birthday. She was a little skiddish around all the people wanting to hold her and cuddle with her right when she woke up from her nap in the beginning, but warmed up to everyone nicely pretty quick.

As people got to our house, we took a picture with them and the birthday girl for her to have in her baby book. This is our family picture...Then we let her open presents and she got some really nice things! I LOVE this romper - it says "Lil Miss April"...Then Brad grilled some fajitas for dinner and after feeding everyone (including Brenna who ate probably two full fajitas worth), we, of course, had cake. Here's a pic of the table all decorated. The 'theme' was The Big One, so I had a cupcake cake made into a big pink number one, she had a big number one balloon and more. I think it turned out so cute!Singing Happy Birthday (she had this look on her face, like, "why are they all singing? That's wierd...)"Blowing out the candle (with some help)...Then we let her loose on her own cupcake. It took her all of about 2 seconds to realize that this was some goooood stuff!

"Hmm...what is this? Something new...hmmm......"Now, you have to know Brenna and how she eats. She eats as if someone is about to take away her food any moment. She sticks whole breadsticks or pieces of pizza in her mouth. We constantly have to watch her because she always has too much food in her mouth! After the inital taste, the cupcake was no different. The whole thing went into her mouth."Can't let that piece get away...it's falling down my arm!"The crowd of people watching her - there were several faces that had the "ewwww!" look on them...."Haha! Guess ya'll have never seen me eat?""What? That's it? Well, let me get all these little crumbs...Can't let that go to waste!"

"There's bound to be some icing I can suck off this thumb!"...And she quickly and easily cleaned up nicely afterwards. She was one happy baby with all that pink sugary icing in her! No more for a whole 'nother year! :-P
