Man...where did this weekend go?! Well, we got a lot done, actually, all things considered. We worked A LOT out in the yard. About this time of year is when we start to get the back and front yard cleaned up, do our annual pruning and organizing and such. First, I got my apple trees!!!! :D And they are in the ground. In the picture below, the ones on the left of the picture are my fruit trees that were already there, an orange, key lime, and plum. Then in the back corner are the newly planted two apple trees - a gala and mollie delicous. Wish me luck! I really really want them to do well...I have wanted apple trees forever! Brad got up on the ladder and trimmed the hedges. Then while he was down and actually using sheers, I got the hedge trimmer and started doing the sides and front. All was going well until I cut through the extension cord. Doh! We did lots more cleaning up outside, cleaning the patio, pressure washing stuff, moving things that haven't moved all year and cleaning in, around, and behind them. So many things to do. But apparently, Barkley decided we needed just one more project on our to-do list. Now, let me just say, he is a Great Pyrnees and Shephard mix. He definitely got the Shepard's brains. He is really quick learner. He was housebroken in about two days. Using the doggie door and everything. He could sit on command in one night and the next night learned to shake. One smart cookie! But. (pause) He has definitely got on Brad's bad side with regard to the garden. Apparently, he likes him some vegetables. That's right. He has chewed up a couple of our spinach plants and a couple jalapeno plants and bell peppers. In fact, he likes to bring the bell peppers inside and eat them in front of us. Arg! So, since he is ever so efficient at using the doggie door, we had to temporarily Barkley-proof the garden. He's not jumping yet, so we hope this will keep him long enough till he learns! We hope. We thought through a bunch of different things, from chicken wire to trellace-like fence, etc and this was the cheapest way we thought might keep him out. Not very tall, but the fence combined with the notion that he knows he's not supposed to be in there we hope will keep him out! Wish us luck on that end too. He is a really really good dog otherwise. Really, for a puppy? He doesn't chew anything up, he doesn't pee or poop in the house at all! He doesn't wine or bark,....eh, ok...he barks. We did name him Barkley for a reason. ;) I mean, he's really a good puppy! Much less work than most puppies his age I would assume. He is hot-natured though with all that fur and I think is just trying to find a cool place sometimes...in the garden. The dirt is really cool, comparatively. Anyway, so after another project was completed (the cleaning out of the sandbox), Barkley found a new favorite place. Where he can dig till his little hearts content and lay in the cool dirt...er, sand. Brooke said he is the same color as the sand...and that we should've named him Sandy. And then she could be Annie. And I could be Grace. And Daddy could be Daddy Warbucks. **sigh** you get the idea. We also made time for a quick trip to my hometown to celebrate my aunt's 80th bday! A lot of long-lost family members were there and we didn't want to miss the opportunity to get together and have some yummy Tex's Barbeque! And, I am so kicking myself. I seriously am so mad at myself for missing my little girls first bday celebration this year. :( This took place at Sunday School. I decided to stay home to let Brenna nap a little longer before church while Brad took Brooke to Sunday School. Knowing full well that they do the bday singing and such AFTER the kids bday. That's just how they do it - the Sunday AFTER their bday. Well, hmph! Apparently, protocol was broken and I missed out! (something about being too busy the following weekend practicing for them singing at Palm Sunday, etc etc). I can't believe it! I missed it! Oh well, my ever-thoughful husband at least captured video from his cell phone and we got this picture as a remembrance. Well now that the weekend is over, we've got a busy week ahead of us. Today Bailey had a grooming appt and he's looking better than ever! I had an eye doctor appt. Tomorrow Brooke goes to the dentist, Wednesday I go back to the eye dr, Thursday and Friday nothing is scheduled, but tons of errands on my to-do list. Plus the normal Kindermusik and school schedules. My eye is still not back to normal...quite the contrary actually. I went into the eye dr after being diagnosed with shingles in and around my eye. He told me then it would get worse before it got better. And boy did it ever! Over the weekend was the worst! Not only that, but my eye drops were supposed to be refrigerated and were not (thanks for the notice Walgreens!) so they had to be tossed and I was told the second bottle would be $113 as opposed to the original $7. Grrrr! Anyway, I go back to the eye dr today, he tells me my cornea is really torn up and scratched up. Hmm....yea, I can kinda tell. I can't open my eyes in the daylight, have to wear sunglasses anywhere (even in the house sometimes), and have to look down constantly. Anyway, so he wanted me back on the original eye drops, plus a steroid eye drops, plus an oral medication I was taking before and to see me back in two days! Long story short, we called the pharmacy on their screw-up by not telling me to refrigerate the bottle and they replaced it for only the $7, but my eye is still hurting. I am really ready to have normal eyes again. Anyway, I probably shouldn't be blogging when I'm in such a whiny mood. Haha!
Tomorrow will be better. Busier, but better right? :) Ta-ta for now!

You have a lovely family!
I found your blog from google because I was searching for babies with flat heads. I have a 5 month old son who has a flat head and I am desperate to find out when his head will start to round out. I seen the post of your beautiful daughter at 4 months, but I don't know how flat her head was and not from the newest pictures, her head looks perfectly round. If you could please give me any advice or information about how long it took your daughters head to round back out I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you so much!
