Christmas Program

Today, at church, was the annual kids' Christmas program. It went off pretty well. Brooke did great as usual (she's becoming quite the pro at these) and sang her little head off, with only a few slight distractions from, ....um....some fellow classmates. ;) Here's the two videos to the two songs she participated in....

On the sibling front, Brenna has apparently caught her first stomach virus. Who knows from where, but man, was she one sick little puppy this weekend. Starting Friday night around 11p, she started throwing up every 30min-hour until 4am. Then it started tapering off to only every hour or so all day long until about 8p on Saturday. She also ran some fever. She was keeping absolutely NOTHING down. Whatever we tried to give her - water, breastmilk, anything...it just all came back up. It was pretty scary. We were mainly pretty worried about her dehydrating - even the dr's office told us over the phone they couldn't do anything for her and to only watch for dehydration. This was one of those times I am so thankful for breastfeeding. I swear that's the only way we stayed out of the ER. I nursed her every hour or so or when she woke up (she did a lot of sleeping too!) and I think that's the only thing that kept her hydrated enough to maintain.
Anyway, she is 'better' today, but is still kinda puney. The vomiting stopped finally and now we're only dealing with the fever and her being lethargic. Now THAT I can deal with much better. I can't tell you how many loads of laundry we had to do and how many times the floor got cleaned in the last 48 hrs. It was very reminiscent from when she was vomiting all the time as a newborn. Not fun.
This is a how we spent a majority of our day yesterday. Notice her 'throw-up bowl' beside her as she sleeps on a towel in our bed. She would just start throwing up in her sleep. Poor baby...
But still so sweet...
One of her few awake times, she still laid sprawled out not wanting to move much. I felt so bad for her...(also, notice the bowl again? It went everywhere with her!)
This time brought back some not-so-fun memories of when Brooke was almost the same age and got rotavirus, ended up being tortured in the ER at midnight on New Year's Eve. We definitely didn't want to re-live that scenario with Brenna. Thank God we didn't have to! Here's Brooke in what seems like so many years ago...(this was taken after we reached the non-vomiting stage with her)....

UPDATE:

Round 2 - Brenna is back to throwing up and now Brooke is by her side. That's right...2 sick kiddos sharing the same 'throw up bowl'. Fun times. I don't know - I'm kinda wishing it was still the weekend. It's hard handling two kids throwing up all over you simultaneously by yourself. Ugh...
