Yesterday after church, Brooke closed the car door on her finger. Yeowch! You know how much THAT hurts. So, yep. She screamed bloody murder for a while (we're working on crying when something hurts, not screaming....ay yi yi!) all in the middle of the Country Club parking lot. :(Anyway, I'm not sure how she actually did it since I was on the other side of the car getting Brenna out. By the time we met around the back of the car, her finger was already purple. And it continued to get more and more purple. The above picture was taken this morning, so a good 24 hrs AFTER the incident. Some of the swelling already went down. Brad thinks she'll lose her nail (we haven't mentioned that part to her). And she says it doesn't hurt too bad anymore...only if you touch it. ;-) There is also no broken skin, she we're gonna leave it alone for now and see what happens. But for now, she likes to show everyone her 'battle wound'.
I did joke with her that if she did this to all her fingers, they'd all be purple and we wouldn't have to paint any of them! She didn't think that was too funny....
