It seems to be a trend or tradition or whatever to tell of things you are thankful for on Thanksgiving. So, here goes...here are the things in life that I most appreciate and thank the Lord for every single day....
-Brooke who has the sweetest spirit, the kindest soul, who is so beautiful beyond words and has the biggest heart. She is so full of love, tells everyone all the time how much she loves them and is the best sister to her baby I have ever seen.
-Brenna who has fulfilled our lives completely. We cannot imagine what life would be without her. Her smile can make anyone smile, her laugh make anyone laugh. She is such a happy happy baby - I can't express that enough. Even when she's 'fussy' b/c of being tired or hungry, she still will take the time to smile wholeheartedly at anyone.
-my husband, the best I could ever imagine. He accepts me for who I am, when we disagree we do so politely. After all these years we are still best friends. I trust him with my life, my children, and my soul. I am thankful for what he does for our family and that he has worked so hard to take care of us.
-our house we live in and food we eat...we have no room to complain really. We eat rather well (sometimes too well ;) ) and our house is paid for. Again, kudos to my hubby for making that possible. We have a roof over our heads, a huge backyard for the kids to play in, and a place to call home that we love.
-the free country we are so fortunate to live in. Despite the many ups and downs we go through as a nation we are still so much better off than many places in the world and I think we all too often take that for granted.
-our dog cuz even when he's scruffy, he's just so darn cute and lovable. He puts up with us and the kids and is the best companion to us all. We all love dear sweet Bailey.
-our cat who keeps away the birds ;) and greets us every time we leave the house and every time we arrive back home. Our garage wouldn't be the same without Bo.
-our relationship with the Lord because really....what else matters? I am proud that I am blessed enough to have Him in my heart and that my kids have and will have a relationship with Him as well. I am honored that my husband strives to make himself and myself better Christians daily.
-family. Despite the ups and downs, I wouldn't know what to do without family. People to help out, people who care, people who have your back when no one else does. People who are with you no matter what. You're stuck with your family and they are stuck with you and that really is a great feeling to know you are not in this world alone.
-being debt free, completely! We have been debt free since before Brenna was born and have remained debt free. It's tough some times and definitely a struggle but it is so nice to know we don't owe anyone any money ever. Who needs that added stress?
-Christmas lights because even after you spend two days trying to get them all working and on the tree and working again, when it's all said and done, it's so pretty to enjoy each night of the season
-egg nog and cookies - yum!
-the internet (I can't remember life before it...can you?)
-and digital cameras because I probably do need thousands of pictures of the kids.
-music...any kind. Music can lift your spirits and change your mood. It really is powerful and I enjoy it.
-TiVo. Again, another luxury I cannot imagine life without.
I could go on and on. I tell you - we have to be the most fortunate family around. While sometimes you need reminding, for the most part, I feel like the luckiest girl all the time. Honestly I don't really know what else I could ask for in life? Well, maybe an iPod.....
I hope everyone had a wonderful day filled with lots of turkey and naps! We enjoyed a full day at Brad's cousin's house with 30 something relatives. Tomorrow we go to my sister's for some more celebrating, visiting, and of course, eating. Happy Thanksgiving!!! Enjoy some pics from our day....
