The colors of the rainbow!
Red
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue
Purple
Brooke draws rainbows all the time now and knows the correct order of the colors. She did the above picture with no prompting (and yes, it is red first...just looks a little pinkish). I'd like to take credit, but actually she learned the 'song' for the order of the colors off Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Impressive, eh? Who said TV isn't good for anything?
And to follow up on her flu shot. She did get a flu shot today. She was so scared at the mere mention of it. Her lower lip would quiver and she would get tears in her eyes just thinking of it. Yes, mean ol' mommy told her ahead of time thinking it would go over better if she had time to prepare. In her old self, she was not good with surprises. Anyway, so off we went. Brenna was with us and I think that helped. She kept asking for the nose shot cuz that one wouldn't hurt. (aka - the flu mist) But that one has just been approved for younger kids, so I opted for the shot. Mean ol' mommy again. Anyway, we got there and she said she was going to have courage. And she did! As the nurse prepped her arm, I just started reading a book to her (so she wouldn't look at the needle going in) and she didn't even wince! Her eyes teared up for a second but I think it was more from the stinging sensation that makes you tear, not because she was hurting. Then it was over! Quick as that! She sure surprised the heck out of me! The child that screams as if her arm was severed when she stubs her toe! So, I gave her a huge hug, told her how proud I was, all the nurses were commenting about how they couldn't believe she didn't cry, she got candy and a sticker and we left to head home.
The irony of it all? In the parking lot, she hits her head smack dab on the car door. And....you guessed it....starts screaming bloody murder. :-)

For those concerned, she was/is fine.
