Left ya hanging? Well, Brooke's first day at school (and all subsequent days so far) have been great! She loves her teacher (who also happens to love her), she has made a couple of friends, one in particular that is her 'best' friend at school, Carlie. She tells me she has fun every day and enjoys library time most. Her grandmom peeked in on her one day (without her knowing) and saw Brooke raise her hand and answer a question correctly without prompting, but also saw her tell her teacher she didn't want to hold the door open when she asked. :P We've had one report of a 'mean girl'...but she wasn't mean to Brooke, she was mean to Brooke's friend, Carlie. sigh. And so it begins. Girl drama!
She has eaten her lunch - ALL of it! - both days so far and today Brenna and I went up and ate lunch with her in the cafeteria.
She does tell me all about her day (or at least what she can remember!) every day when she gets in the car. She looks like such a big kid walking out of school and into the car. *sniff sniff*
The first day, I took her for ice cream after school to hear all about it!
And then the first day of school was also the first day of her weekly piano lessons. She now has lots of piano books, homework, and a practice regimen for piano. I was really impressed with the first lesson already learning what she did. Its 30 min of computer lab, working on music theory and labeling and stuff and 30 min of piano time. LOVE her teacher...so great to have this teacher back again (her previous Kindermusik teacher). The last year of Kindermusik was kinda rough for us b/c of the different teaching techniques and we love how much better Brooke (and I both!) do with Ms Chris. :)
Here's a quick couple videos I snuck in while there...
All in all, a great start to a hopefully great school year! The second day, she literally skipped her way into school. Guess that's a good sign, right? :)
