A day of rest

Today, after church, we actually did NOTHING I am proud to say! And it was oh....so nice and worth every second of wasting time. We rested, played some games and with some of Brooke's new toys, etc. Then the weather was wonderful outside and too great to not go outside and enjoy so we went and had a fun time outside for a while as a family. Days like today are the reason I am so thankful for good weather, a nice quiet neighborhood, a big backyard, and lots of enjoyable moments.

(remember, you can click on any picture to blow them up bigger)

We checked on our rose bushes, to find the pinkish-purplish colored roses I mentioned in an earlier post are now in full bloom and are beautiful!

Then on to the garden to find a few strawberries that needed picking....

And also a lovely little ladybug also enjoying the day....

We grilled some leftover hot dogs outside to further enjoy the day. Then Brooke and Daddy played in her play house and she did some sliding - on her own I might add - down her slide from her "clubhouse". I bring up the fact that she did it on her own because this slide is really steep and fast...and a little scary. Since our swingset/playhouse (or "clubhouse") is homemade, the angle of the slide makes it a little fast and the end of the slide a little....um...abrubt. Anyway, this was the first time I think she's done it all by herself - with no one to 'catch' her. Guess she just had to be three first. ;)

Anyway, then we came back in as it was getting dark and played with one of her new favorite toys - her animal hospital (thanks again Trinity!). Except then she had the idea that she could use her stethoscope on Baby Brenna...to listen to her heartbeat. LOL Guess she's been to the OB with me a few too many times.

So, I hope this post wasn't too meaningless, but I really found this day to be enjoyable. Ahhh....it was nice. I hope everyone's Sunday was a day of peace and rest today. Now on to Monday and another busy week.......
