Last week was the start of Kindermusik. Now, Brooke has graduated of course and is no longer enrolled in Kindermusik. And Brenna is starting the first of the series of classes where she gets to go by herself! She's now in Imagine That! round of classes, which is the level where they still do lots of fun things, singing and dancing and such... but they go by themselves to get them prepared for the next class where they really get down to business and start learning how to read and play real music.
Anyway, she was beyond excited to go to class all by herself like a big kid. She was asking me last year (during class) when she would get to go by herself! LOL She was ready.
She has her same teacher (who happens to be the same one Brooke had and is now teaching Brooke's piano lessons) so its all still familiar to her and everything. Here's a very excited little girl waiting to be called back!
Then we got back there and I walked back with her, she sat on her appropriate blue dot on the floor and she hesitantly looked back at me... there was a slight worry in her face. Are you sure about this Mom??? It could've gone badly from there. (I won't relive her escapades in dance class) I think the saving grace was the familiarity with the environment and the teacher and she did stay all on her own, despite that moment of unsure-ness, and did wonderful. She participated ok, not to her full extent like before, in the little kid class, but she did all the activities where they were sitting (just not the dancing and moving around stuff). She was just a little shy. More than anything, when it was time to go, the teacher handed out the kids backpacks with materials inside and she got hers and was soooo thrilled! My big kid, growing up on me...

I think Brenna looks more and more like you the older she gets!
