Last night was the much anticipated Meet the Teacher night. Brooke was so excited...I was a little nervous. This just means the big day is that much closer! eek!
Anyway, we showed up (early, of course) and did the Drive for Kids first. The Dodge dealership provides 3 brand new cars and for every one person that drives one, they give the school $10. No calls later, no sales, no cost to us, no expectations....just drive. Pretty cool. So we both picked to drive the van...pretty nice!
Anyway, we already knew who Brooke's teacher was (thanks to the letter she received), but she still wanted to check the door for her name. :)
We first walked in and were directed the cafeteria. HUH? Well, turns out earlier in the week, they had a toilet leak near the 1st grade wing. It is to be done and ready for school on Monday, but we weren't able to go into the room while it was still in 'maintenance'. Bummer. But Brooke wasn't too concerned. She settled for just peaking in...
Then we went to the cafeteria and found her teacher. Love her so far! She seems so nice, easy going, friendly, and very willing to work with and answer any questions this new mom has! Love her! Mrs Taylor and Brooke...
We went and checked out the rest of her teachers and the rest of the school. Including the music teacher (who was very receptive to any help after she learned of my music background), the PE teacher, the librarian, and the art teacher (she was fun). I didn't get pictures of all that, but here's a few from around the school...
This picture (below) would be Mrs Happ (the principal) as the captain of the boat. :)
We picked up a Tshirt, I signed up (officially) for PTO and to be a room mom (yes, I'm going there), got info packets for girl scouts, Rudder High cheer camp, the cafeteria lunch menu for the entire year (how cool is that?!), and lots of other fun stuff. And Brooke kept asking to go back to the library...good sign, yes?
Anyway, after we (and she) felt pretty comfortable and excited and I got my a million questions answered (love Mrs Taylor!), we headed out...(almost) ready for school to start next week. ;)
Proud to present the newest Johnson Jaguar.....
